Development of a 4WD Part with High Density &
 Complicated Shape

It was evaluated that by discussion with user about the design change to suitable shape for powder metallurgy, it made possible to change from forged parts to sintered parts with big complicated shape and high strength, so that it contributed user to fulfill the new mechanism and to expand 4WD parts market that is expected to grow.

Development of Highly Efficient P/M Internal Gear Pump Rotors
 with Newly Developed Teeth Profile

Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.

It was evaluated that by using the new teeth profile, it made possible to raise the actual discharge volume about 10%, so that it contributed user to raise energy efficiency and to downsize the rotor.

Development of PM Sprocket combined with Housing Body for
 Electro Magnetic Actuated Variable-Cam-Timing Systems

Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.

It was evaluated that it made possible to produce the multi level big complicated shape part without sizing operation and to be used for electro magnetic actuated variable-cam-timing system first time in the world and also to fulfill huge cost saving by the effect of one body.

Development of Sintered Parts Possessing Many Teeth for
 Steering Tilt

It was evaluated that it made possible to produce the heat treated complicated shaped part with high dimensional tolerance and high strength without machining, so that to change the semi- important safety parts from the forged part to P/M part.

Development of the Overload Clutch Parts for Hammer Drill

It was evaluated that by discussion with user about material and designing since the development stage, it made possible to change MIM product to conventional P/M product so that it fulfilled huge cost saving.

Development of the Long Thin-wall Helical Gear Parts with
 Non-regular Shape on the Inside

It was evaluated that it made possible to produce the complicated shaped part with thin and long body that has involute serration on the inside and helical gear on the outside with high dimensional tolerance.

Powder Magnetic Core Materials with Low Iron Losses Equivalent
 to Steel Plates

It was evaluated that by developing the unique film formation mechanism, it made possible to produce the powder magnetic core materials to be able to use even at low frequencies, so that it made possible to expand the field that is expected to grow.

High Wear Resistant Valve Seat Material for CNG Engines

Hitachi Powdered Metals Co., Ltd.

It was evaluated that by developing many field like matrix material, hard particle material and solid lubricant, it made possible to produce valve seats in CNG engines that uses under severe condition, so that it was expected to expand to clean engine field in future.

High Performance of Sinter Forged Aluminum Alloy

Hitachi Powdered Metals Co., Ltd.

It was evaluated that by developing the new, cheap powder not by using rapidly solidified method, it made possible to produce the aluminum part with high strength that old type sintered aluminum alloy could not fulfill, so that to expand the usage to the conventional melted aluminum material field.

Oil-impregnated Sintered Bearing for EGR used under High
 Temperature Corrosion Environment

It was evaluated that it made possible to produce oil impregnated sintered bearing for EGR that requires high temperature corrosiveness and uses under severe environment, so that to expand the field that is expected to expand in future.

It was evaluated that by using machining at green stage, it made possible to produce the hydraulic part that required to be used under clean condition with high reliability and low cost, so that to expand green stage machining in future.

Low Cost Sintered Oil Impregnated Bearing with Superior Low
 and High Temperature Properties for In-car Motor

Porite Corporation

It was evaluated that by developing new materials and oil, it made possible to produce sintered oil impregnated bearing that can be used over a wide temperature range, so that it made possible to change from ball bearings for in-car motor.
